Dos Pueblos Little League opens registration for the 2023 baseball season on Nov. 1.
DPLL is coming off the heels of its most successful All-Star tournament season, winning five District Championships, one Sectional Championship and a third-place finish in the Southern California State Tournament for the 10U team.
The league welcomes all youth athletes (within league boundaries), between 4-14 years of age to participate in the beloved game of baseball.
For the 2023 season, DPLL is offering all new players and families a $50 discount. New and returning families can also take advantage of an early bird discount in November, as well as a sibling discount for families with multiple players. DPLL also offers scholarships for eligible families which can be applied for when registering.
Said Jeff Palmer, DP Little League president, “The 2022 season set a record of 408 player registrations, and we are hopeful to continue to see the league grow again this year. We are also looking forward to our second season under new leadership of the Challenger Division for players with physical and intellectual disabilities.”
To continue the investment in local youth baseball, and to prepare for the season, DPLL is offering two free 4-hour pre-season clinics for registered players 8-14 years of age to get baseball ready and improve their technical skills and baseball IQ. Players and coaches from UCSB and Dos Pueblos High School will be running the clinics, as well as experienced DPLL coaches and board members. The clinics will also involve structured coaching and umpire training for new and returning DPLL volunteers.
Last year, DPLL invested significant time, resources and capital into their fields and facilities making Girsh Park the premiere youth baseball complex in Santa Barbara County. Among the improvements were upgrading the bullpens with turf mounds, upgrading the backstops and fencing, replacing and adding new field sheds, installation of webcams, and improving the equipment the players and coaches have access to on a daily basis.
DPLL Opening Day will take place on March 4th, 2023, with practices starting in February. DPLL was formed in 1974 and has been playing at Girsh Park since 1999. DPLL is a 100% volunteer run organization and looks forward to offering another season of quality baseball for Goleta and Santa Barbara families.
