DPLL 10U All Stars Advance in States

The Dos Pueblos Little League 10-Under All-Star team defeated Aliso Viejo LL by a score of 4-1 on Thursday to keep their run alive in the State Tournament at Imperial Beach LL.

After losing to Chula Vista 4-3 on Wednesday, DPLL was facing elimination on Thursday.

DPLL jumped out to an early 3-0 lead against Aliso Viejo, setting the tone for the remainder of the game.

They added another insurance run in the fourth inning, and that proved to be all DPLL starting pitcher Andrew Wang needed. Wang tossed 4 ⅓ scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out one. Juan Meza closed the game, striking out three in the final 1 ⅔ innings to earn the save.

Offensively, Oliver Palmer and Matias Csordas led the way with two hits apiece. Philip Low, Wang and Meza each tallied base hits as well.

With the victory, DPLL will face off against Glendora American LL on Friday in another elimination matchup. Only four teams remain in the 10-team State Tournament,

The Dos Pueblos Little League 10U All-Stars consist of James Chou, Matias Csordas, Isaiah Estrella, Ryan Lem, Philip Lowe, Ryan Means, Juan Meza, Oliver Palmer, Zane Pflanzer, Spencer Shaw, Jacob Stock, Andrew Wang and Luka Wilson,  The team is managed by Chad Wang with coaches Ray Pflanzer and Matt Stock.
