Bella Godlis fired in five goals for Dos Pueblos, but the Chargers came up short against Oaks Christian, 11-10, in a first-round girls water polo game at the Southern California Championships in Irvine on Thursday.
The score was tied 4-4 at halftime and Oaks Christian took an 8-7 lead going into the fourth period.
“Defensively, we could have done a better job as they had one player who scored the majority of their goals,” DP coach Bryan Snyder said. “Unfortunately, we allowed her to control the game for them. We can do a much better job of playing team defense and not letting one player hurt us that much.”
Shannon Connolly had two goals and two steals for the Chargers. Godlis added two steals and an assist to her stat line.
Dos Pueblos (10-12) plays Woodbridge in the consolation bracket on Friday.
