Dos Pueblos’ Ryan Calkins scored her first goal of the season in a 1-1 Channel League tie at home against Lompoc Tuesday.
Calkins finished off her weaker foot for the goal from a Maddie Jones assist.
“Ryan has been training hard all season to get her first Varsity goal, and her hard work paid off tonight,” Charger coach Ivan Luna said.
“Also, Maddie Jones with fantastic runs down the left flank, putting in crosses and creating chances throughout the entire game. Elena Andrews came up with a crucial save to keep us in the game. It was the best save she has made all season.”
Lompoc scored on a set piece late in the game for the tie.
“Though we created more chances to win the game, we could not put another one in the back of the net,” Luna said.
Dos Pueblos is 0-1-1 in Channel League play, and 0-8-4 overall. Lompoc is 2-2-1 and 5-6-4.
