Dos Pueblos swept all nine doubles sets and beat Carpinteria, 12-6, in a non-league boys tennis match on Tuesday.
“Their doubles teams were very polished and each team had a great overall understanding of how to play and what to do,” said Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant of the Chargers. “They are very well coached and they have the players to put that knowledge in to action.”
The Warriors did get six singles wins from the Stone brothers, Austin and Max.
“Each swept but each had to work very hard for their wins. It was just that kind of a match.” said Bryant.
“Our number two singles player, Franklin Truong, had an incredible fight losing in a tiebreaker against Austin, but it was some great tennis,” said DP coach Laura Housinger. “We were glad to get some non-league play into our schedule to mix some things up in our lineup and play other players we have not come across this season. Charles runs a nice program and we look forward to playing them again in future seasons.”
Dos Pueblos is 6-1 overall while Carpinteria is 2-3.
