Dos Pueblos overcame first-match nerves and defeated Oaks Christian, 11-7, in a season-opening girls tennis match on Wednesday.
Six victories out of nine doubles sets keyed the Chargers’ victory. Kate Scherz won two sets in singles.
“It was our first match of the season so there was a lot of excitement and overall team spirit present in every match as well as a bit of nervousness, too,” said DP coach Laura Housinger. “The girls supported one another and realized lots of things that we need to work on in upcoming weeks.”
The Chargers play host to Carpinteria on Tuesday.
