A driver received minor injuries after a vehicle collided with a cow on Saturday night between the Lompoc Valley and Gaviota.
Shortly after 6 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to southbound Highway 1, just south of the passing lanes, according to California Highway Patrol emergency dispatch reports.
A caller notified CHP dispatchers that a black cow was out of the fence on the right hand shoulder of the road, with reports saying the bovine was near a blind curve.
Another driver struck the cow but was able to move the vehicle off the road.
The driver reported having a hand injury, according to dispatch reports.
A tow truck also was requested for the damaged vehicle.
CHP staff notified the rancher about the injured cow.
