A driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Friday evening after crashing his car into a home in the Hidden Valley area of Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Police officers and other emergency personnel were called out at about 7 p.m. to the incident on Palermo Drive at Portofino Way, according to Sgt. Allan Tuazon.

The vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee, smashed into the front of the single-story residence, but neither the driver nor the occupants of the home were injured, Tuazon said.

The name of the driver — a man in his early 20s — was not available late Friday night.
