Dylan O’Neill and Mateo Handall were a 1-2 punch for the Carpinteria boys basketball team in a 63-54 win at Fillmore on Tuesday in the Citrus Coast League opener.
O’Neill scored 21 points and Handall had 20 to lead the Warriors (8-6) on the road.
O’Neill also grabbed six rebounds and had three steals. Ian Reed contributed eight points and three assists.
Chris Cisneros scored 16 to lead three Fillmore players in double figures.
Carpinteria is home Thursday against Nordhoff.
