Registration for the fall youth basketball league will start Tuesday, Sept. 5, Lompoc Parks & Recreation has announced.

The program is open to all children ages 4 years old through eighth grade. The league emphasizes learning rather than competition while participants are taught the basics of basketball. Practice and games will be held during the week and on Saturdays.

The cost to sign-up at early registration, which runs Sept. 5-22, is $160 for Lompoc residents and $192 for non-residents, with sibling discounts being offered.

After Sept. 22, registration fees will increase to $180 for city residents and $216 for non-residents. Registration fee includes 30 $2 reimbursable raffle tickets and a T-shirt. Scholarships are available.

All registrations will be taken at the Anderson Recreation Center, 125 W. Walnut Ave., Monday through Friday during normal business hours from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday registration will be available 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 9, Sept. 16, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30.
