Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) will offer two in-person theater workshops for aspiring young performers, ages 8-19. Ensemble Theatre Company is a professional resident theater company in Santa Barbara.

Under the direction of award-winning actor/director Brian McDonald, ETC’s Young Actors Conservatory is a theater arts training program offering young thespians the experience of working in a professional setting alongside working theater artists.

Students receive challenging, innovative training supported by a comprehensive curriculum that balances performance and technique.

“We are so excited to be moving forward with in-person learning this summer,” said McDonald. “Although we found creative ways to provide educational programs throughout the pandemic, there is no substitute for the personal interaction and engagement that is vital to a performing arts training program.”

For the continued health and safety of students and staff, each program will implement the use of masks and social distancing, and use outdoor spaces at Marymount school.

During the latter part of each program, classes will be held on stage at The New Vic, which has been upgraded to comply with the safety guidelines as set out by local, county and state officials. Additionally, safety measures will be in place for audience members who wish to attend the performances in person.

The 2021 summer programs include the two-week workshop Camp Broadway for students ages 8-12; and four-week intensive Musical Theatre Performance Workshop for students ages 14-19.

Tuition prices run $550-$950. For families in need, ETC offers financial scholarships to cover the cost of tuition. For more information, visit https://etcsb.org/education/young-actors-conservatory or call 805-965-5400 ext. 541.
