Firefighters continued to make progress Monday night toward full containment of the vegetation fire burning on Hollister Ranch, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The blaze that broke out Saturday in the rural community on the Gaviota Coast west of Goleta was 70% contained as of 8:30 p.m. Monday, fire Capt. Daniel Bertucelli said.

The size of the fire increased to 120 acres, according to Bertucelli.

Two firefighters reported injury or illness battling the fire, he said, adding that both had received medical evaluations.

Crews continued building and strengthening containment lines, and were expected to remain on the scene overnight into Tuesday.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
