Santa Barbara County firefighters rescued a dog that was stuck on a cliff below More Mesa near Santa Barbara on Sunday.

Crews were dispatched at about 9:45 a.m. to an area of More Mesa near Mockingbird Lane and Calle Las Brisas off Puente Drive, fire Capt. Daniel Bertucelli said.

A high-angle rope system was set up, and a firefighter was lowered down the cliff to the dog, some 75-100 feet below.

The firefighter was able to reach the dog, and both were lowered safely to the beach below.

No injuries were reported.
