Firefighters responded Thursday afternoon to a residential structure fire in the Carpinteria area that injured on person.
Crews were dispatched at about 12:15 p.m. to the blaze on the 5600 block of Casitas Pass Road, according to Capt. Noah Tunney of the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District.
“On arrival, units found an outbuilding with a heavy fire load attached to a single-family residence fully involved with fire,” Tunney told Noozhawk.
It took firefighters about 25 minutes to knock down the fire, Tunney said, adding that they were able to keep the flames from extending into the home, which is near agricultural operations.
One person sustained burn injuries, Tunney said, and was treated and released at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Carpinteria firefighters were assisted on the incident by crews from Montecito, the city of Santa Barbara and Ventura County.
Cause of the fire was under investigation.
