The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is looking for community members to help pack food boxes, volunteer at food distribution sites and make home deliveries to neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity in Santa Maria and Lompoc.

While state and county recommendations for seniors to stay at home remain, and the economic crisis is still on the rise for many who have lost jobs and income, the need for healthy supplemental food is at its highest level ever.

Volunteer roles available include:

» Emergency food-box pre-pack (Santa Maria warehouse only, 490 West Foster Road).

» Food distribution site volunteer (Santa Maria, Lompoc).

» Home delivery driver (Santa Maria, Lompoc).

Interested community members should sign up for a volunteer account at the website https://foodbanksbc.org/ and be sure to check the box to receive emails. Email is the primary way the Foodbank is currently reaching out with short-notice or ongoing opportunities. For more information, email kpadilla@foodbanksbc.org.
