In a wild game for the District 63 8-Under Tournament championship, the Goleta Valley South Little League All Stars held off Dos Pueblos, 12-11.
Goleta Valley South started fast, scoring five runs in the first inning and five more in the second.
Down 12-4 after four innings, Dos Pueblos battled back, scoring three in the fifth and four in the sixth before falling a run short.
Goleta Valley South got hits from Sebastian Gonzalez and Alonzo Wilhelm, a double by Joseph Demmin and a triple by Aiden Herrera.
For Dos Pueblos, Isaiah Estrella went 2 for 2 with two runs scored and a RBI, David Ramirez had a hit, scored two runs and drove in run and Santiago Grande had a hit and scored twice.
Walker Torres, Demmin and Gonzalez pitched for Goleta Valley South and combined for 13 strikeouts, led by Demmin’s six. Catcher Aiden Herrera threw out a runner attempting to steal second base.
Goleta Valley South sealed the win on an exciting play as a relay from right fielder Brandon Munoz to Asher Alvarado, to Damian Gonzalez nailed a DPLL runner at third base.
