Personnel from three agencies battled a structure fire that damaged a residence in Guadalupe on Sunday night.

At approximately 8 p.m., personnel from the Guadalupe Fire Department, Santa Maria Fire Department and CalFire responded to a report of a structure fire in the 300 block of Tognazzini Avenue.

Crews found smoke coming from the back area of the home and worked quickly to extinguish the fire.

No one was injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

“This is a great reminder to check your smoke alarms regularly and change the batteries twice a year,” Guadalupe firefighters said.

Homes should have at least one smoke detector per level and one in each bedroom, Guadalupe firefighters said.
