Hannia Hernandez scored 21 points for Carpinteria’s girls basketball team in a 51-40 loss at Villanova Prep on Monday night in a non-league game.
The Warriors cut a 21-point deficit to single digits early in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough as Villanova held on for the win.
Graciella Vergudo added eight points for Carpinteria.
