Sunset along the Gaviota Coast with a Christmas ornament.
To help get you in the mood for sharing photos of your holiday decorations, here is a stunning image sent in by David J Diamant. It was taken along the Gaviota Coast.  (David J Diamant photo)

With 2020 being the kind of year it has been, many people may find it difficult to capture the full measure of cheer this holiday season.

But perhaps remarkably, the residents and businesses of Santa Barbara County seem to be over-compensating with their holiday decorating, putting up amazing displays of colored lights, inflatable Santas and snowmen, Christmas trees, menorahs, nativity scenes, angels, holiday music, and more.

Many of you, no doubt, have witnessed this phenomenon in your own neighborhoods.

Noozhawk would like to help spread this holiday cheer by posting photographs of as many decorated homes and business as possible.

If you’d like to be included, please email your photos to news@noozhawk.com, with the subject line, “Holiday Cheer.”

Make sure to include the address of the home or business (for publication on Noozhawk), along with your name and phone number (not for publication).

And feel free to tell us a little bit about your decorating efforts.

We will post groups of photos regularly, and as often as possible, through the new year.

With digital images, it’s important to remember that size does matter. Images should be at least 250K in size; closer to 1 MB is better.

For our format, horizontal images are better than vertical, although vertical pictures will still be accepted.

Also, unless you are a professional photographer, it’s often helpful to take photos involving holiday lights before it is complete dark, in order capture the best images. But we’ll leave that to you.

Won’t you help us spread some holiday cheer in Santa Barbara County?
