Injuries were reported in a head-on crash Friday that shut down Highway 154 near Lake Cachuma.

The collision occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m., about a quarter mile east of the entrance to the Lake Cachuma Recreation Area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash involved a minivan and a pickup truck, with the latter ending up on its side, said Mike Eliason, a spokesman with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Both lanes of the highway were reported blocked; the lanes were reopened at about 10:15 a.m., according to Caltrans.

Three people were injured, one seriously, Eliason said.

A woman in the minivan suffered moderate injuries and required extrication from the wreckage, Eliason said.

She was taken by an AMR ambulance to the nearby county park, where she was transferred to a Calstar medical helicopter and flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Eliason said.

The driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries, Eliason added. He was treated at the scene but declined transport to the hospital.

The names of those involved were not immediately available.
