A comprehensive road repair project on Mission Street enters its final phase this weekend. Mission Street from the Highway 101 overpass to State Street will receive a total grind and overlay of new pavement, providing a new driving surface and smoothing out of dips. Pavement work will take place 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, through Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Mission Street and all cross streets between Castillo and State streets will experience temporary closures during construction hours. Not all cross streets will be closed at the same time.

The work will be phased to manage detoured traffic and local access for residents and businesses. Drivers are advised to choose an alternate route and avoid the Mission Street corridor.

Traffic signal-conduit installation is underway and will finish prior to the pavement work. Striping of Mission Street will follow shortly after to complete the Mission Street Pavement Maintenance Project.
