Carrillo Comedy Night will present comedian Andrew Norelli, 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Santa Barbara’s Carrillo Recreation Center, 100 E Carrillo St. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.

Norelli has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Letterman, and the Late Late Show, and has given his own TED talk. He is known not just for his charm but for working naturally clean — something the venue asks of all its comedians.

In January of last year, the Carrillo Recreation Center teamed up with professional comedian Jason Love to produce Carrillo Comedy Night the second Friday of each month. The idea is that the industry’s best comedians would work clean in the intimacy of the foyer at the center.

“We’re really happy with the feedback we’re getting. The show is full every month now,” said Jason Bryan, senior recreation supervisor.

The Sept. 13 lineup will be rounded out with comedian Frank Lucero, one of the original Latin Kings of Comedy; and Andy Peters, who just recorded a Dry Bar Comedy special. Love, himself a nationally touring headliner who performs most of the year on cruise ships, will be the host.

“I’m always excited to share my favorite comedians. Norelli may be my all-time favorite,” Love said.
