Senior guard Iyree Jarrett scored a career-high 35 points to lead the fifth-ranked Warriors of Westmont (14-2, 7-1) to a 79-35 Golden State Athletic Conference victory over Life Pacific (0-14, 0-8). The All-American connected on 12 of 18 shots from the floor, including seven of 10 from 3-point distance. She also made four free throws and produced six assists.
Jarrett’s previous career high was 30 points, which she scored against Lyon (Ark.) during the Round of 16 at the NAIA National Championship.
The 35-point performance ties for the sixth most scored by a Warrior in a single game. With tonight’s total, Jarrett sits at 1,215 career points, 12th in the Warrior record book. This season, she is averaging 16.8 points per game.
Allena Cook and Sydney Brown also scored in double figures, recording 11 points each. Brown pulled down 14 rebounds to record her sixth double-double of the season. Cook led the team in field goal percentage, tonight, making five of seven (71.4%).
All eight Warriors who saw action in tonight’s game changed the scoreboard. Destiny Okonkwo posted seven points and eight rebounds while Gabriella Stoll notched five points and 11 rebounds.
Ebun Kalejaiye recorded her first points of the season, scoring five and tallying two rebounds.
