San Marcos senior wrestler Jacob Dominguez overcame an injury and placed third in the 106-pound weight class at the CIF-SS Finals on Saturday to qualify for next weekend’s Masters state-qualifying meet.
After going 3-0 on Friday, Dominguez had to be assisted off the mat after a semifinals loss.
He bounced back to clinch the Masters’ berth, defeating wrestlers from Dos Pueblos and Chino.
Angel Estrada of the Royals finished sixth in his weight class and is an alternate for the Masters Meet, which will be held at Palm Springs High.
