Rep. Salud Carbajal will host a community hike on the Rattlesnake Canyon Trail, 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31. The walk will be led by naturalists from Los Padres ForestWatch.
The hike gives Central Coast residents the opportunity to hear directly from their member of Congress while they enjoy the natural beauty of California’s 24th Congressional District. Participants should meet at Skofield Park, 1819 Las Canoas Road, Santa Barbara.
Rattlesnake Canyon Trail is uphill and rated moderately difficult. The hike will take about 90 minutes. Hikers are urged to eat breakfast, carry two liters of water, bring snacks and dress appropriately with comfortable shoes, loose layers and sun protection.
Parking is available at Skofield Park and on Las Canoas Road.
