The Junior League of Santa Barbara (JLSB) is inviting Santa Barbara County nonprofits to apply for Community Assistance Funds (CAF) through Thursday, March 31. The league will award a total of about $10,000 in grants this year to local nonprofits.
Grants awarded are typically between $500 and $2,000.
JLSB is a nonprofit organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
To extend the league’s reach to address the Santa Barbara community’s greatest needs, it partners with local nonprofits to make its vision to improve the lives of at-risk youth and families a reality.
In 2021, $13,500 in CAF grants were awarded through JLSB to eight nonprofits: Angels Foster Care, Casa Serena, Community Counseling and Education Center, Domestic Violence Solutions for Santa Barbara County, Girls Inc. of Capinteria, Standing Together to End Sexual Assault, Storyteller Children’s Center, and St. Vincent’s.
Priority for funding consideration will be given to Santa Barbara nonprofits whose projects or programs align with the league’s current philanthropic focus area: Improving the lives of at-risk young women by educating and empowering them to reach their full potential while working to prevent exploitation and injustice in our community.
