Khadim Pouye scored 16 points and Junior Nkemka got Cate rolling early with a breakaway dunk in an 84-16 Frontier League boys basketball win over Providence on Wednesday.

“This was the first time in my coaching tenure all players were in the scoring book and all contributed 1 steal or more,” said Cate coach Andy Gil. “It was a good rebound game for us after a triple overtime loss to Thacher om Saturday.

“Particularly proud of our defensive effort and sticking to fundamentals,” added Gil. “We are doing a better job of simplifying the game and playing at a faster pace.”

Cate (9-3, 1-1) plays host to Grace Brethren on Friday.
