The juniors took charge for the Dos Pueblos boys volleyball team in a 25-12, 25-13, 26-24 sweep of Valencia in the Chargers’ home opener on Thursday.
Opposite hitter Micah Goss, middle Nick Schultz Clifford, outside hitter Jan Schmidtchen and libero Ezekiel Tynes provided the spark for the Chargers.
“As they all step into new roles this season, they continue to improve each time they take the court,” said coach Ehren Hug. “Nick was super active along the net attacking tonight. Jan and Micah were pumping jump serves and Zek was all over the court, picking up the scraps and passing efficiently.”
Goss led the attack with seven kills, four aces, two blocks and two digs. Ewan Richards had six kills and Matthew Wilcox added five. Setter Grant Hughes handed out 24 assists.
DP is back home on Tuesday against Calabasas at 6:30 p.m.
