A juvenile was reported to be in critical condition after a shooting Sunday night in Santa Maria.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., officers responded to multiple calls of a shooting on the 400 block of East Orange Street, according to Sgt. Andy Magallon of the Santa Maria Police Department.
“Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting, but no victims were immediately located on scene,” Magallon said.
Officers continued their investigation in the area, and a short time later were notified that a shooting victim had arrived at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
The juvenile, whose name was not released, had been taken there by private vehicle, Magallon said, and was in critical condition.
Detectives were continuing to investigate, and asked that anyone with information contact Detective David Kulp at 805.928.3781 extension 1643 or call the department’s tip line at 805.928.3781 extension 2677.
