Santa Barbara second baseman Kai Mault hit a two-run double in the first inning to send the Dons on their way to a 5-2 win over Lompoc in a home Channel League game Wednesday.

Wyatt Hastings added an RBI single and Zane Lee Paulick knocked in two more to give Santa Barbara a 5-0 lead after one inning.

Starter Eric Anthony made that work for the Dons, giving up six hits and two runs in seven innings while striking out four and walking none.

The win improves the Dons to 4-2 in league play, good for a tie for second place with San Marcos. League-leader Dos Pueblos is at 7-1.

The Dons racked up seven hits. Vince Gamberdella and Mault each had two, including a double each. Gamberdella and Lee Paulick also had stolen bases.
