Goalie Kate Gay made 16 blocks and the Carpinteria defense shut down Malibu’s strong two-meter player to score a 12-10 win over the Sharks in a Citrus Coast League girls water polo game on the road.

“Kate Gay had a phenomenal game,” said coach Sergio Castaneda.

The sophomore dual of Alex Zapata and Briana Rodriguez each scored three goals to lead the Warriors, who improve to 3-0 in league and 6-2 overall.
