Laguna Blanca’s girls beach volleyball team wrapped up second place in the Tri-Valley League with a 3-2 win over Bishop Diego on Thursday.

The Owls won at the 3s, 4s and 5s to take the match. The No. 1 team of Lola Hall/Fiona Hernandez lost in three sets.

“I am so beyond proud of my two seniors who I’ve had the pleasure of coaching the last two years,” said coach Jenny Simms. “Our team feeds off the energy these two bring to practice everyday. Their leadership is a big reason why our season has been successful.

“Lola Hall is one of the best athletes and leaders I have coached in my eight years of coaching. Fiona Hernandez has been a player who has seemed to blossom overnight on the sand court. This season, it really all clicked for her and it’s been awesome to see her move from our 5s pair to playing all the way up to the 1s pair to finish her high school career. “
