Laguna Blanca opened its boys volleyball season Thursday with a sweep of Viewpoint, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.
“It was a nice way to start the season,” said coach Jason Donnelly. “We are a young group and I was really pleased with the way we played three close games today. We were down in the third set and made a nice comeback to take control and get the sweep.”
Donnelly credited outside hitters Finn Walker and Thomas Couvillion for having productive offensive nights and said sophomore opposite Freddie Russell played well all around.
“There is a lot of learning going in our gym right now and we definitely got better as a team tonight.”
The Owls play Dunn at home on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
