Alejandra Gutierrez is maintaining her slimlead over incumbent Jason Dominguez in the District 1 seat on the Santa Barbara City Council, according to updated semi-official results released Tuesday.

Gutierrez and Dominguez, are 14 votes apart, according to the third round of results.

Gutierrez led by 10 votes as of the previous count on Friday.

Gutierrez received 960 votes (47.6%) compared to Dominguez, who received 946 votes (46.9%).

Gutierrez originally was behind Dominguez on election night (by 32 votes), and then she took the lead for the council seat in the second announcement of election results.

With Tuesday’s updated counts, Planning Commissioner Michael Jordan maintained his lead over Realtor Brian Campbell in the District 2 council race.

Jordan has 1,507 votes (37%), followed by Campbell at 1,126 votes (27.6%).

Five hopefuls were running to replace longtime Councilman Randy Rowse, who is leaving the seat because of term limits. 

In the District 2 race, Teri Jory received 759 votes (18.6%), while Tavis Boise had 372 votes (9.1%) and Luis Esparza won 304 votes (7.5%).

District 2 primarily covers the city’s Mesa area.

Cruzito Herrera Cruz holds third-place with 99 votes (5%) in the District 1 race.

District 1 is on Santa Barbara’s Eastside.

The city has received 6,140 ballots in total.

Tuesday’s count included ballots received by last Friday and were postmarked on election day. It also included verified provisional ballots, ballots of voters who had missing or unmatched ballot envelope signatures and signature fixes from voters.

The final tally is scheduled for Thursday morning.
