Freshman Leo Metzger won his third consecutive match medalist honor, shooting a 73 to lead San Marcos to a 444-493 boys golf win over Santa Ynez in a Channel League opener on Monday at the Alisal River Course.
Metzger beat Callaway Winans of Santa Ynez by one shot.
Cole Stevens of the Royals shot his best score with an 87.
San Marcos is 2-1 overall and 1-0 in league.
