Light rain will keep falling Tuesday and Wednesday before weather clears up for a sunny Thanksgiving and holiday weekend, according to the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service.
The first storm of the season dropped less than 1 inch of rain for most Santa Barbara County areas as of Tuesday morning.
The U.S. Forest Service station on Figueroa Mountain, within the Lake Fire burn area, has received 1.26 inches of rain in the last four days. Santa Maria received 1.27 inches, measured at its Public Works building, according to county rain gauges.
There’s more rain on the way, but it’s expected to be light and not cause any major hydrologic issues, the NWS said Tuesday. The agency has not issued flood advisories for the region.
Other four-day rainfall totals as of Tuesday morning:
- Santa Barbara received 0.12 inches
- Goleta received 0.44 inches
- Carpinteria received 0.12 inches
- Buellton received 0.24 inches
- Santa Ynez received 0.22 inches
- Lompoc received 0.3 inches
- Cuyama received 0.41 inches

Weather and public safety officials advised drivers to be cautious on wet, slick roads and avoid swimming in the ocean due to untreated stormwater runoff.
Thursday, Friday and the weekend days are expected to be sunny and warm. Daytime temperatures will be in the high-60s and low-70s throughout the county, the NWS said.
