Rooted in the movement that won the right to vote for women, the League of Women Voters continues “making democracy work.” Our mission is “to empower voters and defend our democracy.” The local League registers voters, holds candidate forums, and explains ballot measures. We do not endorse candidates or political parties, but we take positions through study and consensus. Our committees educate and advocate on local issues such as housing, criminal justice and the environment.
