The city of Lompoc is asking for ideas from community members on its plan to carry out grant-funded transportation studies and planning work along the North H Street (Hwy. 1) and Ocean Avenue (Hwy. 246) corridors.

The city’s planning division and partner agencies want to hear from the community on how these improvements would best be implemented.

Community members are invited to provide input as part of a community workshop for the planning of these multi-modal improvements. The workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Lompoc Community Outdoor Market, 200 block of W. Ocean Ave. Participants are invited to swing by the booth at the market anytime during these hours to offer their suggestions.

The Lompoc Streetscape Multi-Modal Improvements Project focuses on pedestrian and bicycle connections, as well as streetscape design and beautification along Lompoc’s major transportation corridors. The improvements will address transit needs, safety issues, implement the city’s goal of “complete streets,” and help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
