A person inside a residence was injured in a shooting early Saturday in Lompoc. 

At 1 a.m., officers with the Lompoc Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of South R Street after a caller reported a shooting with one victim at the scene, Sgt. Andrew White said.

Investigators determined that someone fired multiple shots through the front door of a residence, striking one person inside, White said. 

The victim was located within a residence, and was transported to a medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, White said.

The investigation into an assault with a firearm and shooting at an occupied residence was ongoing, White added.
