A pair of stabbings that sent two people to local hospitals for treatment of wounds on Monday remained under investigation by Lompoc police.

Just before noon, personnel from the Lompoc Fire Department and Police Department responded to the 100 block of North M Street, police Sgt. Scott Morgan said.

Few details were available, but authorities found a male and female with injuries after they were stabbed, Morgan added.

One person was taken by Calstar medical helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries, according to emergency dispatch reports.

A second patient went to a local hospital for treatment of unspecific injuries.

The victims’ names and ages were not released.

Detectives were working to identify the subject or subjects responsible for the assault, Morgan added.

Anyone with any information about the incident can call Lompoc police at 805.736.2341 or submit a tip via the department’s mobile app.
