SBCC built a 11-0 lead after six innings on Saturday and went on to beat Cerro Coso 11-4 in a non-conference baseball game in Ridgecrest.

The Vaqueros (7-4) showed no ill effects from the 3½-hour bus ride as they tied their season high of 17 hits. First baseman Jacob Bravo went 3-3 with two RBIs and three runs. He belted a solo homer in the second and drove in Pat Caulfield with a double in the third.

Boston Hubbard was 3-6 with two RBIs and Joshua Perlmutter went 2-3 with a pair of RBIs.

Ian Churchill, a former San Marcos High star, pitched five innings of shutout ball to improve to 3-0. The sophomore left-hander held the Coyotes (12-4) to two hits and struck out five while walking two.

The Vaqueros scored six times in the fifth to go up 10-0. Mason Metcalfe had an RBI single, Holets walked with the bases loaded, then Hubbard delivered a two-RBI double and Perlmutter followed with a two-run triple.

Cerro Coso scored four runs with two outs in the ninth and they were all unearned.

The Vaqueros are scheduled to host Ventura in their WSC North opener on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
