A man who allegedly robbed a small market in Santa Maria was taken into custody without incident on Monday, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported robbery at a neighborhood market on the 500 block of East Boone Street, Lt. Terry Flaa said.
The victim reported that the man entered the business, selected various items and left without paying.
When confronted, the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened the victim, who returned to the store and called police, Flaa said.
Officers located the suspect — Daniel Sarabia, 33, of Santa Maria — walking near Broadway and Cook Street, where he was taken into custody.
Sarabia had the stolen items plus a knife in his possession then he was arrested, Flaa said.
Sarabia was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of robbery, with bail set at $100,000, Flaa added.
