A 20-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly shot his girlfriend to death in Lompoc, according to the Lompoc Police Department.
At about 11:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to a home on the 300 block of North Y Street on a report of an unresponsive female, said Sgt. Agustin Arias.
They found a 19-year-old woman dead of a gunshot wound, he said.
Investigation revealed Brenden Michael Terry as the suspect in the slaying, Arias said, and he was booked on suspicion of homicide.
Arias added that the victim, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, had moved to Lompoc from out of the area in mid-2019.
“At this time in the investigation there appears to be no other suspects involved in this case,” Arias said. “However, Lompoc Police are still asking anybody with any information in this case and about the couple’s history to call the Lompoc Police Department.”
The Police Department number is 805.736.2341.
