Marcus Carbajal and Taylor Young blasted three-homers, powering the Dos Pueblos Little League 12-under All Stars past Ventura-Foothill, 15-5, and into the District 63 Tournament championship round.
Dos Pueblos will play undefeated Goleta Valley South on Tuesday, July 6 at the GVSLL complex.
Carbajal, who went 4 for 4 in the game, got things going in the second inning by driving in Lazlo Csordas with a double. Isaac Tellez then drove in Carbajal for 2-0 lead.
Foothill rallied for three runs in the third to take 3-2 advantage.
Carbajal struck again in the bottom of the third with a two-run single to put DPLL back in front.
Dos Pueblos pulled away with a big fourth inning. After Jaxson Russell and Carter Denier reached base on walks, Young hit a three-run homer over the left-field fence. Nicolas Salcido and Csordas followed with singles and Carbajal brought them home with his blast over the left-center field fence for a 10-3 lead. DPLL.
Carbajal finished the day with two singles, a double, home run, seven RBI and two runs scored, Salcido went 3-4 with two runs scored and a RBI. Csordas also went 3-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI.
DPLL posted five more runs in the fifth inning to end the game.
The DPLL 12U All-Stars consist of Adan Macias, Andrew Tanner, Austin Wang, Carter Denier, Isaac Tellez, Jaxson Russell, Kabir Rajvaidya, Lazlo Csordas, Marcus Carbajal, Nicholas Salcido, Reed Bitter, Stone Saunders, and Taylor Young. The manager is Jeff Denier with assistant coaches Adrian Flores and John Young.
