Carpinteria fell 12-6 against Simi Valley, the 10th-ranked team in CIF-SS Division 2.

“We competed today for the most part,  but I really think we left the match saying we could have done a bit better,” said Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant. ” I think we were thrown off by their doubles today.  Each of their teams had a different style and we never seemed to get comfortable or in a rhythm.”

Carpinteria’s No. 1 doubles team of Ariana Lounsbury and Charlotte Cooney adaped to Simi’s different styles and swept their third sets.

In singles, Zahra Porinsh went 2-1 and Valeria Zamora won a set.

“We did not get the win but we learned a lot today and I really think that will benefit us down the road,” said Bryant.

The Warriors are 11-6 overall.
