In a Memorial Day tribute to those who died serving our country, Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) will be joined by local first responders at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30 at the Santa Barbara Cemetery, 901 Channel Drive. Representatives of first responders attending include:
The California Highway Patrol, Santa Barbara Area
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office
Santa Barbara Police Department
Santa Barbara City Fire Department
Santa Barbara County Fire Department
Montecito Fire Protection District
Also participating will be the University of California, Santa Barbara ROTC, Santa Barbara Choral Society, and the Gold Coast Pipe Band. The event will conclude with a flyover by the Condor Squadron’s four T-6 Texan airplanes.
“We are looking forward to the community joining us this Memorial Day as we honor those who passed and served us,” said Lt. John Blankenship (USN, former), VFW lifetime member and PCVF co-founder. “We hope to see fellow veterans, those currently serving the country, and our supporters at this hour -ong free event.”
