An early Wednesday morning fire at two-story apartment building in Los Alamos was confirmed to a patio, according to Capt. Scott Safechuck of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department

County firefighters were dispatched to the incident at approximately 2:40 a.m. The fire involved a lower unit on the 200 block of Gonzales Drive.

A resident evacuated from the apartment after hearing a fire and smoke detector sounding, Safechuck said.

The fire was confined to the exterior patio area and no one was injured in the incident, he said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, he added.
