A stadium record and eight meet records were set at Saturday’s Rincon Relays track & field meet at Carpinteria High on Saturday.
Morro Bay’s Joseph Ruddell cleared 6-foot-11 in the boys high jump to break the meet and stadium record. The former stadium mark was 6-9 set by Vince Porter of Pasadena Poly in 2015.
A meet high jump record for girls also was set as Lily Shadden of Foothill Tech cleared 5-4. Carly Leandro of Foothill Tech set a meet record in the girls pole vault with a height of 10-6.
Carpinteria’s Vincent Rinaldi set a meet record in the boys 200, clocking 22.88. He also won the 100 in 11.32.
Savannah Alvarez of the Warriors was a double winner in the long jump (14-10.5) and triple jump (31-6.5).
Ava Burton of Morro Bay set girls JV meet records in the long jump (15-9.5) and pole vault (9-6)
Mercy Torres of Carpinteria ran 70.08 to win the girls 400 meters.
Santa Maria won the boys team title and Foothill Tech took the girls title.
