A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash east of Santa Maria, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on the 4200 block of Tepusquet Road, the CHP reported.

The motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries and was taken by AMR ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, according to Capt. Daniel Bertucelli of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The rider’s name and details on his condition were not available.

The crash was under investigation by the CHP.
