A motorcycle rider suffered moderate injuries Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Gaviota, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 near the Nojoqui Summit, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The rider, a 22-year-old woman, lost control of the motorcycle as she was heading down the grade toward Gaviota, said Mike Eliason, a Fire Department spokesman.
A Calstar medical helicopter was requested and then canceled, and the woman was transported by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Her name and details on her condition were not available.
The crash was under investigation by the CHP
